Overview
The project focused on the power of children's literature to address gender stereotypes, which can influence early perceptions of behavior and career choices. In the course of my bachelor thesis I conducted research, including a workshop with young children, and consulted with social pedagogue and author Daniela Thörner. Drawing from these insights, I crafted a children’s book that challenges these stereotypes and fosters critical thinking and empathy among young readers.

The book needed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and provide a meaningful experience that would help break down societal barriers and foster open-mindedness in children.
The Solution
Through creative storytelling and impactful design, the book addresses common gender stereotypes by depicting children in everyday situations that are relatable to every child.
The Result
The project resulted in a children’s book that uses storytelling and design to break down gender stereotypes. Through relatable everyday scenarios, it encourages independent thinking, challenges societal norms, and fosters empathy, helping children grow into more open-minded individuals.
